Council PCN vs private parking charge?+
Council PCNs are legal penalties, appealed to the council then an independent tribunal. Private 'parking charges' are invoices from a company, appealed to the operator then POPLA or the IAS.
How long do I have?+
For council PCNs you usually have 14 days to keep the 50% discount and 28 days for formal representations. Private operators typically allow 28 days. Check your ticket.
